User experience Optimization

Introduction

Designing a website is not as simple as you think it is. As a designer, you must be aware of all the technicalities you need to see to make the end product presentable. However, no matter how good of a designer you are, if you fail to create a user-friendly website then you are not going to survive in this tough industry. We know how hard and frustrating it would be to match all the requirements of your clients and meet all the deadlines given by your boss, so we can imagine the stress would be real. However, if you are doing something then why don’t do it right? The best way to make that happen is just to take a minute before selecting anything for your design. Try to think about it from a user’s perspective. Believe us or not- the end product would be worth your all efforts. After all, you are designing something that would be used by common people, not your client, not your boss.

Designing User-friendly design

Now, the first question that is often asked is how to design such a design that can be user-friendly. Well, there are not some hard and fast rules to follow about them. You just need to be a little intuitive, and you are all set. You need to make sure that you are using quality content to make it good based on UX terms. Good content allows the user to have the right information right away which increases the interactivity of your website, so good content is the key here. Moreover, make sure that you are providing the right information to make it easy for them to contact you. Always mind that UX is all about users’ ease, so making interfaces that are easy to use holds the key significance here.

User Understanding

You may be thinking what is the difference between user understanding and creating a user-friendly design? Well, they may sound alike but they are different yet important to each other. You first need to understand the user to create a user-friendly design.

Furthermore, user understanding counts a great deal in the overall performance of your website. If the design of an interface would be complicated and hard to understand then it would negatively affect your website ranking. In this highly competitive industry, you need to be on top of everything to make sure that users find the site convenient to use.

A good UX design also helps in the ranking of the website. The higher the ranking would be, the higher would be the demand. So, in the end, even before aesthetics comes the usability of any design or site. This is only possible when as a designer you put the effort into finding the inspirations and modifying them in a way that makes the design aesthetically appealing as well as user-friendly.

What would be marketing trends in 2023

Posted on 16 September 2022

Introduction

There is a common term we use for today’s world which is “global village”. This refers to the digitalization of today’s world, and as the world is changing so do its ways. The same is the case with marketing strategies. Where once brochures and banners were considered extreme marketing strategies now digital marketing took over its place.

In just a matter of a few years, digital marketing took the world in its grasp, and with each passing day, it is evolving into something new. So here are a few of our predictions that you may see in 2023 in terms of digital marketing. However, even if they don’t come up, you still need to adopt the strategies that we are going to discuss to be able to master the art of digital marketing.

Focus on the locality of potential customers

Marketing agencies were focused on designing websites and digital materials that are more aesthetically pleasing. However, this is not the case now. As a marketer, you need to focus more on the psyche of the people respective to their location. For example, in Pakistan people are more focused on the traditional ways.

They lack knowledge of digital media, but this is changing as more and more qualified and intelligent people are getting into this industry. So, the point is you need to focus on the location of the target audience while putting your efforts and adopting any strategy for the potential customers.

Focus on brand value

As customers are exposed to a variety of advertisements, thinking that they are going to be impressed by your picture, design, or website easily is a goose dream. They are exposed to countless excellent stuff, so you need to present something extra that is perfect in its own accord. This sense of perfection only comes when your selling point is not the product itself but the brand value.

This means you are offering your honesty rather than the product which they can take from just anywhere. So, the point is you need to focus more on the brand value in the coming days rather than using the same old tricks to advertise your client’s products. Good digital marketing agencies focus more on polishing up the hidden values of their client’s brand rather than focusing on publicizing the products.

Brand building

This point is linked with the above point, so again if you are the owner or employee of a digital marketing firm, you need to start working on the overall reputation of your client’s brand instead of focusing on the products. You may argue that products are what brand is, so how can you differentiate the two? Well, to some extent you are right but the regime is changing little in general when we see the latest digital marketing strategies. These days competition is quite high over the same products among various companies, so the point is which company is more preferred by the customers.

For instance, Bata is a highly recognized shoe manufacturer even when many other brands are way better than Bata. People prefer Bata over others. This is solely because they build their brand via their honesty and that is something which you don’t find easily. So, the point is now digital marketing agencies need something more moral than just plain beauty.

Conclusion

Above mentioned points are all about what we see in the upcoming future, so if you want your clients to work with you for a long time then it is better that you prepare yourself for all the changes required. If you want to learn more about the new things in the digital world then stay in touch with us.

Significance of digital marketing for your business

Posted on 21 September 2022

Introduction

As the world is progressing, so do its ways. The same is the case here. Where once, people left the ads in the newspaper, now is the time to go digital. All the marketing campaigns are about social media and other digital platforms. Thus, if you are a business owner then you must know that without the right digital marketing strategy you can’t grow your business in modern times.

Digital marketers

Digital marketers are specialized in using various techniques to advertise your products and business on various digital platforms. However, they need to have their knowledge updated because of continuous upgradation in this field. That’s why digital marketing agencies hire digital marketers based on their knowledge and skill rather than their experience.

Digital presence

Going digital in the present world is so important if you want to grow your business at a steady rate. The Internet is important in every field, so it is important to maintain a strong digital presence to increase opportunities for you.

Prospects of growth

Today, almost all companies hire digital marketing agencies to open their prospects of opportunities and work with various clients. They see the bigger picture by investing in digital agencies rather than forming a digital marketing team of their own. In the long run, they will have more return on investment rather than creating one.

● Moreover, digital marketing agencies have a global outreach, so they can provide your company with a broader room for growth than traditional marketing does.

● It is the most cost-effective marketing strategy compared to other marketing techniques.

● Digital marketing targets potential audiences or clients for your business, which increases numerous possibilities for you.

It is extremely important in the business sector because of high competition, so whether you have a large corporation or a small business, digital marketing is equally important for your business.

With digital marketing, you can assess the success rate easily. This is something that you can’t be sure of from any other advertising means that you will get your desired results or not.

● Digital marketers plan a site’s performance and make necessary changes to change the course of growth. This is something only professionals can do. This is achieved by understanding business and target audience needs, so you will have the edge over your competitors.

So in the end, it is not hidden how much your company needs digital marketing to grow and excel. They will help you improve your brand image, and grow in your respective industry.

Comparative study of graphic and web design

Posted on 19 September 2022

Untitled design

Introduction

  • Often confused, these terms are so different in actuality. Graphic design is often considered the same as web design, but it’s not. The purpose of web design is to create a design that makes the website functional while graphic designers are concerned only with the aesthetics of images. Though both designs use images for communication purposes, they are both used differently. Here, we are going to see some ways through which these designs vary.

1. First of all, the website needs to have images that relate to the content. This means that the layout and content should fit like a lock and key to improving the integration of the website. Thus, a web designer has to design the images or any layout relevant to the content. While graphic designers are only concerned with the creation of aesthetically attractive images. They don’t have any concerns with the layout or whether the words and pictures are making any sense or not.

2. If you are seeing a website that is a total eye candy with all the relevant information this means that the website has the freedom of putting everything as per his/her taste. On the other hand, designers create designs based on their color knowledge. As for graphic designers, every color has some meaning, so they create logos or images that are meaningful.

3. Words are important when we talk about web design because they complete the sense of images, colors, and fonts. However, graphic design doesn’t hold much importance. Graphic design is all about colors. They care for colors only when they are creating an ad or some picture book. For example, if the picture book is for children then instead of using bright colors graphic designers will adopt the color scheme that kids find appealing. Moreover, someone watching some ad after a long day trying to relax wouldn’t want exciting colors like red or orange to see. So, graphic designers are concerned with colors.

4. In graphic design, pictures hold more power than in web design. Let’s say, there is a picture of a kid playing with a ball, it is enough to make someone smile. As for web designing, you need to be consistent with the words, a picture is not enough to explain the full meaning. Graphic designers put consideration into selecting colors and images based on their effect on the target audience.

5. The purpose of web design is simple, that is to make the site functional and user-friendly. Graphic designers in the media field need to find an image that conveys the message at first glance.

6. When they work together they complement each other’s work. Combining their unique talents and skills they create content that is the perfect blend of everything. Not just would they be able to create a user-friendly website, also graphic designers could help to make it more aesthetically pleasing.

What you need to do to make stable and fast mobile apps

Posted on 16 September 2022

Introduction

If you are not new to this website then you may already be aware of how we discussed designing only. Now, we are slightly shifting our side towards development. So, today we are going to discuss a few tips. If you are a developer developing a mobile app then they made the whole development procedure a lot easier.

Developing an app is not an easy task, so it is better to have the services of a professional developer to have a stable and fine operating app without any trouble.

Clean and organized code

As a developer, you must keep your code organized to have the proper format. Because without appropriate format coding won’t work and can crash down due to memory leakage. So, it is a good way to start by clear formatting and organizing your code.

Testing

It is always better to test side by side regularly. Instead of waiting for testing after developing a full app, it is better to test your application before deploying it to the app store. This way you can prevent the backlash from an audience and can put a better product out in the market. Now, two main testing strategies are used to test the app. A brief detail of these strategies is as follows.

End-to-end testing strategy

Simply put it is the testing process that goes side by side with the development of an app from start to end. It is a great way to make sure that all the components operate the way they should in real-time. The main purpose of this testing is to make sure that the end product is perfect in every way.

Unit testing strategy

As its name indicates in this kind of testing only certain components called units are being tested to assess their functioning and practicality. It is done by the developers during the coding phase, but the major drawback of this testing is it won’t identify the faults in components other than respective units.

Third-party library

You can use the third-party library as it allows the developers to integrate with pre-tested and reusable software that will not just save time, but also money. By integrating with a third party there won’t be any issues like memory leakage or other updates, but you need to be careful with the license of the library otherwise you will have to pay.

Android and OS platform

Both these platforms have their differences like CPU speed, security model, and many others that can affect the development of an app. So, make sure to consider these differences while developing an app.

Real device testing

Instead of testing on the emulators, it is advisable to test your app on a real device. It will help you in finding software issues, errors, and compatibility issues.

Long story short, just being careful and doing everything right is enough to develop a stable and fast mobile app. We hope these tips would be of some help. For more tips and information on various UX designing and developing topics stay with us.

Significance of UI/

Significance of UI/UX design in website development

Posted on 12 September 2022

UX-design-industry

Introduction

As per stats, 70 percent of online businesses fail because of bad usability. This strongly emphasizes the significance of UX for website development. No matter how good your website looks, if it doesn’t have a good UX, it can’t manage to keep its place in the market. So, you need to have a good digital marketing agency working for you if you want to have the best UI/UX design for your website..

Basic designing terms

Most of the time we get confused with the terms like web development, web design, UI, and  UX. We think that they are the same, but that is not the case. Here are the basic definitions of these terms that indicate their differences.

Web development

All the background work that makes the site responsive, determines its speed, and makes it work effectively falls under the category of web development.

Web design

It is a broad category that includes different disciplines and skills to create or maintain a website. UI and UX designs also fall under this category.

UI- User Interface

This term refers to the aesthetics of a design. Everything from color selection to font selection, and graphics involved that determines the overall look of your website falls under this category.

UX- User Experience

It explains how the user feels or how convenient the website is to use. It involves the process of developing and improving the website from its design point of view. The UX of a website tends to determine the fate of the website.

Now, as you have learned the basic difference between these terms, it is time to see the reasons that make UI/UX significant for website development.

1. Enhances user engagement

The best thing you can offer your users is the cohesion of the design, so they can easily get what they need. Both UI and UX offer the integration of all graphic elements of the design. If the website fails to grasp the attention of the audience then they will move to some competitor’s website. Thus, if you want the user to stay on your website then you need to make sure that you design your website following all the protocols of UI and UX.

2.      Time and money conserving

Investing enough time and resources in the generation of a design helps you in having a customer-friendly website. This means that you don’t have to spend your time and energy frequently on minor changes. Making frequent changes requires both time and money, so why not go for the option that ensures stability in terms of managing your time and money?

3.      Brand building

UI/UX’s main goal is to make sure that the user is satisfied by all means, and if your website is made considering users’ preferences as the first thing then it speaks for your brand. It is in human nature that people are more attracted to things that are people-centric. So, UI/UX allows you to build a well-perceived business overall.

4.      Boost conversion rate

Many websites offer the same services, the only thing that makes them different is their design. If the design is user-friendly then it will be perceived well by the users compared to others. As per a few studies, user experience can boost conversion rates up to 400%. This relatively increases the user’s willingness to visit the site again. Thus, UX design tends to increase your business.

5.      Support SEO

SEO is one of those things that determine the success of a website. UX design and SEO go side by side and are important for the ranking of the website in Google search results. The purpose of SEO is to provide relevant information quickly to the user, and the UX design means quick page-loading speed, mobile responsiveness, and user-friendly structure which helps to fulfill the purpose of SEO.

Adaptive design vs.

Blog

Adaptive design vs. Responsive design

Posted on 9 September 2022

Introduction

You may find countless websites, online reading material, and e-books that will contradict what we are going to say. They will describe countless website design types like fixed, fluid, static, etc. However, in this mobile-centric world, there is only two designs that work for you and everyone else. Other combinations could be used, but as a designer, your primary purpose is to design something that will aid your users, so both these designs have their pros and cons that you need to asses before adopting one.

Adaptive designs

As we mentioned in the brief introduction to web designing (make it clickable) adaptive designs are the ones that use two or more versions of the website as per their screen sizes. They are divided into two categories based on the sizes needed by a site.

Design based on device type

As the browser connects with the device HTTP request the field called “user agent” informs the server about the type of device. Thus, the adaptive website will show the version of the design based on the type of device that is connected. However, an issue could arise if you shrink the size of the desktop window because it will have problems shrinking the already adjusted size.

Design based on browser width

In the device type where the user agent plays the main role, in this type instead of the user agent website uses media queries and breakpoints to switch between versions. As for media queries- a CSS feature allows a webpage to respond to different sizes while breakpoints are the width sizes that help a website to switch from one version to another. So, instead of device versions you will have 1080px, 760px, and 480px width versions. It is more flexible to design and gives a great viewing experience as it adapts based on screen width.

Advantages

● Fast and flexible to make custom designs

● Easy to apply the “what you see what you get” policy

● Load within seconds

● Cross-browser and device compatibility

Disadvantages

● Certain limitations compared to responsive websites

● Device type design has visual limitations on small browser windows.

Responsive website

Depending on the percentage that each element will take in a container, responsive websites are made on flexible grid layouts. For instance, if an element- let’s say header comprises 25% of the container then that element will take up that much space regardless of the screen size. However, these websites can use breakpoints to create a custom look at various sizes.

Advantages

● Hard to break design

● Great experience

● Tons of available templates

Disadvantages

●Requires extensive designing and testing

● Custom designs can be challenging without accessing the code

Conclusion

Based on the pros and cons of both these design types, as a designer you could adopt one, or both depending on you. You can make an adaptive design with some responsive features and vice versa. So, choose your design style based on the purpose of your design.

Adaptive designs

As we mentioned in the brief introduction to web designing (make it clickable) adaptive designs are the ones that use two or more versions of the website as per their screen sizes. They are divided into two categories based on the sizes needed by a site.

A brief overview

Blog

A brief overview of web design functional elements

Posted on 7 September 2022

Introduction

As visual elements are important for any website, functional elements are equally integral. They help the site to rank high on search engines. Moreover, these are the ones that make sure that users have a great experience on your website. So, along with visual elements, it is a must to consider them while designing a website.

Navigation

How you design the navigation protocol of your website is extremely important, especially from the UX point of view. Navigation allows your users to use the website depending on their purpose at the website. For instance; if someone is present for the first time at your website then it allows them to discover what your site has to offer. If someone is back again it will help them to start from where they left off. Thus, navigation is integral to improving the visitor’s overall experience.

User interactions

There are many ways with which users interact with your website depending on the device they use. Some may click while others may scroll or tap, point is, when there are various ways with which a user can interact with your website then you need to make sure that viewers smoothly interact with your website. Some of the ways with which you can guarantee the smooth interaction of your website include;

Don’t auto-play audio/video

● Don’t show pop-up

● Never underline the text unless it is clickable

  Mobile friendly design

Animations

There are plenty of sources available on the net from where you can have the inspiration of animations which you can use in your design to make it more interactive. They engage your site visitors instantly. However, if you are a new designer then we suggest you keep your design as simple as possible to avoid developing conflict later on.

Speed

Nobody likes to wait more than a few seconds for a page to load. You can’t keep your visitor on your site if the waiting period is too long. No matter how good or beautiful your site is it can’t do well or rank high on google if the speed is not high. The top site mostly compresses the size of the data on the website this way they shorten the loading time. So, make sure to do your research thoroughly.

Site structure

The structure of the website is a major contributor that affects both; what would be the user experience of your website and how your site rank on google ranking- meaning it affects the search engine optimization process. It should be able to help your users to be on track without getting lost. If site structure would be poor then users can lost easily while navigating and if they can get lost, crawlers can get too, which can affect your site ranking.

Note: Crawlers (bot) search through your website and determine its functionality.

Conclusion

As a designer, you must know how to maintain a balance between both visual elements and functional elements. If only you can grasp the skill of taking both sides by side in your design, you will be able to make a design that is both aesthetically pleasing and user-friendly.

A brief overview

Blog

A brief overview of web design visual elements

Posted on 5 September 2022

Introduction

When you get into website designing you learn about two main things that are UI and UX referring to the interface and usability respectively. The website or any other digital product you are going to design has the perfect blend of everything from aesthetics to usability, so using various elements to design the near-perfect version of the website is extremely important.

In this article, we are going to see various elements which draw up the final version of your website. But before that, we suggest you learn about website designing, so read a brief introduction to web designing, and you will have a better understanding of website designing.

Written content

Just assume you don’t have any knowledge of design and you open any website that doesn’t go hand in hand with the text written, how would you feel? Of course, you will feel confused. This is the UX point of view of your website. Point is, that the website you design should have a well-written design that fits perfectly with your design and the services you are offering. So, focus on text chunks that compliment your graphics and images.

Fonts

The second most important thing is font selection. Choosing a font that compliments your overall design is extremely important. Font should go well with the color scheme, images, graphics, and other things you used for your web design. Some web design tools even include various font pairings that can work for you. Other than that, there are tools like Canva font combinatory which can help you with the right font selection.

Colors

Selecting the color is the most important step of the website designing procedure. Many designers argue based on the psychology of color, but it is important to know that it could be wrong sometimes. So, you need to focus on the colors that compliment the design and tone of your website. Color defines much more than just the layout of a website. Though indirectly it gives the idea of your client’s company, so a website with a catchy color scheme has the potential to attract more customers.

Layout

The layout means selecting the right arrangement of everything that is being displayed on your web page. You may not know this but it has a dramatic effect on your overall design. So, you must consider the needs of your target audience while selecting the layout of your web design.

Shapes

The use of appropriate graphic elements can take your design to next level. It is the best way to create a connection between text and images, and help enhance the overall appearance of your website. They certainly direct your audience and help them in finding the relative information right away.

Videos

Using the appropriate video or videos can give your site an edge over other sites available in the market.  However, selecting them is a challenging task that you need to do quite carefully. You must select the video that is helpful with the information or message you want to convey to your audience.

Spacing

It is one of the most important factors to create a visually appealing website that is easy to navigate as well. Consistent spacing will help your users easily navigate your website. Appropriate whitespace use is important to create a website that perfectly balances everything including texts, images, icons, symbols, etc.

Images and icons

Last on our list are images and icons that are used to convey lots of pieces of information within seconds. However, the selection of appropriate images and icons is extremely important, even excessive use of them can disrupt the overall structure of your design. So, be careful with the selection of the images and icons for your design.
